Synopsis: What if one day you found out you really are the son of a Greek god and must fulfill a secret mission? That's what happens to Percy Jackson and from that moment has to live the most exciting events of his life. Percy expelled from six schools have dyslexia and has difficulty concentrating or at least that's the official version. Mocked for inventing fantasy stories do not even believe them just the same until the day Gods of Olympus will reveal the truth: Percy is nothing less than a demigod is the son of a god and a mortal.

knew this series of books by a classmate who loves Greek mythology, and therefore since I watched the show loved it. Although recommended it to me long ago, was until recently, when I showed in the Imm I had the opportunity to venture into this saga. There are 5 books that comprise it, are published in English 4 of them by the editorial Salamandra, which by the way confirmed the publication of the fifth book. Surprisingly to me country have already reached the top 4, though I have only 2.
In the first book put us with Percy Jackson, a boy of 12, who has been expelled from 6 schools in 6 years (Go Chico!), Lives with his mother and stepfather foul makes life miserable, and never, never knew his father.
Indeed Percy's life is not very nice because he suffers from dyslexia and ADHD, social life is a mess and his only friend is Grover, a guy who annoys everyone in the school. For
Percy does what many people play, live your life, get used though not entirely at ease. But he does not expect is that on a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Ny with your school (SIIIII, has not driven this yet) her teacher turns into a rage and attacks him. What a surprise for Percy! But all does not end there, after that NO ONE remembers anything or know anything about this teacher.
Then things happen faster than they should: His mother goes to the city, they are attacked, your best friend reveals that he is a satyr, and he should go to camp. But the worst is when they are about to reach the camp, they are attacked by a Minotaur and his mother is dissolved in a golden ray. Crazy, eh! But what can you expect from a guy who is nothing more and nothing less than the son of Poseidon, the God of the Sea? Yes, the guy is a demigod or better to call it, mestizo.
To add more drama to everything, Zeus master beam is lost, and Percy is the more suspect because it was assumed that his father, he never knew he could not have more children. Also, if the beam is not recovered en10 days was a war going badly for humanity.
Then Percy is shipped with two friends, Grover, the satyr and Annabeth a girl he met at camp daughter of Athena, in search of lightning. Unfortunately must do more than recover the beam: must catch the thief, agree with the father who abandoned him, solve the riddle of the oracle, which warns of the betrayal of a friend, and unravel a traitor more powerful than the gods themselves.
Ok, if you could see in my little short, with tiny Spoilers, The Lightning Thief is filled with action at all times. It's quick, short and adventure is on each page. His reading is very consistent, always action.
a while I must say that I did not know a book as fun to read, has lots of humor. Perfect for children or adults like me, who am neither one nor the other. The plot has twists and turns, there is drama, sadness and betrayal (Ugh). I was struck lso titles are very creative, funny and chords in the text.
Rick Riordan is a genius with children, writes in a very smooth and easy. Not only brought the twenty-first century mythology but has given him a unique personality to each of the characters. I have recommended the book to all my little cousins \u200b\u200band they loved, they have understood! Is that in fact it seems that Percy told you the story.
entire book is sprinkled with a touch of Greek mythology. Mixing Greek mythology with the modern world, totally ingenious: The Olympus is in the estate empire and the underworld in Los Angeles. All the characters are charming. Percy is brave and impulsive, is a superhero without a costume (and there are many villains in his world xD), Grover and Annabeth's funny is very intelligent.
already to conclude tell them that I have noticed that many characters are saying that the book has many similarities with HP. The truth, indeed, have many similarities: male with dark hair and green eyes, an orphan, with supernatural powers, has two friends a smart girl and a loyal, several envious rival, goes to a special school, is very skillful in favorite sport of the school, and is in charge of a mission that will define the destiny of the world. Is enough, eh! But minus that, it does not interfere at all in the story is totally different. Why Does that look like the wise men to the Greek gods, or that camp seems hogwarts mestizo? Certainly, nothing. So do not get carried away by ideas of others, immerse yourself in 375 pages full of humor, adventure and intense action.
I placed an:

PS: Sorry if stay very long, is that after a long period of writing I think I spend a little. Besitos
